About Amal

I am a dedicated and fully qualified Secondary Mathematics teacher with a strong academic background and a commitment to helping students reach their full potential. My qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, a PGCE in Secondary Mathematics, and a Master’s degree in Data Science, which together provide a solid foundation for both subject knowledge and effective teaching practice.

With 9 years of tutoring experience, I have supported students across a wide range of abilities, helping them to develop confidence, improve performance, and achieve their academic goals. My experience has taught me the importance of patience, clear communication, and adaptability, allowing me to respond effectively to each student’s individual needs.

I aim to create a focused and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable engaging with challenging material and developing their understanding at their own pace. A strong emphasis is placed on building resilience and encouraging independent thinking, so students become more confident in tackling unfamiliar problems.

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring is centred around building strong conceptual understanding, confidence, and independent problem-solving skills in every student I work with. As a qualified Secondary Mathematics teacher with extensive classroom and one-to-one experience, I understand that no two students learn in the same way. Therefore, I adapt my teaching methods to suit each individual’s learning style, pace, and academic ability.

In my lessons, I focus on breaking down complex mathematical concepts into clear, manageable steps. I use a combination of guided instruction, targeted questioning, and structured practice to ensure students fully understand each topic before moving on. I place a strong emphasis on exam technique, helping students become familiar with question styles, mark schemes, and effective strategies for achieving top marks. Regular feedback is provided throughout each lesson to address misconceptions immediately and reinforce learning.

A typical lesson lasts between 60 and 90 minutes, depending on the student’s needs and level of study. Lessons usually begin with a brief review of previous work or homework to consolidate understanding, followed by the introduction of new material. Students are then given the opportunity to apply their knowledge through carefully selected questions, with support and guidance provided where necessary.

I bring a strong academic and professional background to my tutoring. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, a PGCE in Secondary Mathematics, and a Master’s degree in Data Science. In addition, I have 9 years of tutoring experience, working with students across a wide range of abilities. My experience as a practising teacher also allows me to draw upon a wealth of high-quality resources to support student learning.

My lessons are suitable for students studying Mathematics at KS3, GCSE, and A Level, typically ranging from ages 11 to 18. Whether a student is looking to improve confidence, close knowledge gaps, or achieve top grades, my aim is to provide a supportive, structured, and results-driven learning environment.
