About Cristina

¡Hola! My name is Cristina, I'm 28 years old, and I'm a native Spanish teacher from Madrid, Spain. I was born in Madrid and grew up in Getafe, a city just south of the capital. I have a clear, neutral Spanish accent that is easy for learners to understand.

I qualified as a Primary School Teacher in 2018. After graduating, I moved to Manchester to improve my English while working as an au pair with a wonderful family. I loved living in the UK, and apart from spending 10 months in France with a French family, I have stayed here ever since. Living in France also gave me the opportunity to learn French, and I'm currently learning Italian too. As a language learner myself, I understand both the challenges and the rewards of learning a new language.

I truly believe that learning another language keeps your mind active, improves your memory, and opens the door to new cultures and experiences.

Outside of teaching, I enjoy running, going to the gym, watching films in English and French, travelling, trying new restaurants, and meeting people from different countries.

My Teaching Style

I currently teach Spanish in a primary school and also tutor students online. Planning engaging and personalised lessons is something I really enjoy, and I always adapt my teaching to each student's goals, interests, and learning style.

I have extensive experience teaching beginners and intermediate learners, although I'm happy to teach students of any level. Whether you're learning Spanish for travel, work, exams, or simply for fun, I'll help you build your confidence step by step.

My aim is to create friendly, relaxed lessons where you feel comfortable making mistakes and asking questions. Nothing makes me happier than seeing my students become more confident and achieve goals they didn't think were possible.

About the lesson

As someone who has learned two foreign languages myself, I understand that every student learns differently. My experience learning English and French has helped me appreciate the challenges of learning a new language, which is why I always adapt my teaching to each student's individual learning style and goals.

Whether you'd like to improve your speaking, listening, reading, writing, grammar, or pronunciation, I'll support you every step of the way. I like to make my lessons enjoyable and engaging by using a variety of resources, including textbooks, worksheets, PDFs, games, videos, and authentic materials. I'm a friendly, enthusiastic, and patient teacher, and together we'll find the approach that works best for you.

My teaching journey began in 2015 during my university placements in Spanish primary schools. In 2018, I started volunteering as a Spanish teacher in a primary school, teaching Spanish as a foreign language. Since then, I've discovered how much I enjoy helping others learn my native language.

I currently work as a Spanish teacher in a primary school in the UK and also volunteer in a secondary school, which has allowed me to gain experience teaching students of different ages and abilities.

The most rewarding part of my job is seeing my students grow in confidence and make steady progress. Watching them enjoy learning Spanish and achieve their goals is what motivates me every day, and I'd love to help you do the same.
