About Atika
I believe English does not have to be difficult or inaccessible. A good teacher who understands you and what you need is the difference between hating the subject, and seeing value in it.
Taking lessons with me ensures that you are taught as an individual, with lessons tailored to your strengths, areas for development and personal goals. I create a relaxed environment where you can ask questions, build confidence and develop the skills you need to succeed.

I am a qualified teacher with five years of teaching experience in GCSE English Language and Functional Skills. I have experience supporting students at different levels, including students preparing to resit their exams.
I understand that resitting an exam can feel challenging, particularly if you have lost confidence or struggled with previous results. My approach is supportive and personalised, focusing on not just what you need to improve, but also your strengths as well.
Whether you are preparing for GCSEs or a resit, I aim to make lessons engaging, accessible and tailored to your individual needs.
A first lesson with me will be diagnostic. I listen to what you feel you need support with. I will then test your current level with a short reading and writing task. Together, we will then design an Individual Learning Plan for you to work towards.
