My lessons are engaging and focused on learning to use and manipulate the language - not just memorisation! I love teaching the method and the rule, rather than stock phrases to repeat.
I bring in real texts from a range of French speaking countries, and I am passionate about teaching both the culture and the language. By learning about the culture, the language feels more usable!
I have experience teaching from complete beginners, up to A-level/B2 standard. I have an undergraduate degree in French, and a PGCE and QTS focused on secondary MFL teaching.

Amelia is a really engaging and dynamic teacher, who is kind and empathetic, particularly with students who are struggling or have SEN. She builds a great rapport with students and helps make the subject relatable and accessible to them. Her teaching of grammar concepts is really clear and student-friendly and I have seen her enabling students to experience that 'lightbulb moment' thanks to her clear explanations. Would definitely recommend!
