About me:
A Nottingham-based tutor, I teach GCSE and A-Level English Language and English Literature, with a clear focus on exam performance and results. I offer both online and in-person sessions (within Nottingham).

I have an academic background in English Literature and Creative Writing and professional experience working closely with texts as a writer and editor. This means I understand both the subject and how to communicate it clearly — especially in an exam context.

Many students struggle not because they lack ability, but because they don’t fully understand what examiners are looking for. My teaching focuses on exactly that:
how to analyse texts effectively, structure strong answers, and write essays that meet assessment criteria.

Lessons are clear, structured, and exam-oriented. I break down complex texts, explain mark schemes in simple terms, and help students turn their ideas into confident, high-scoring responses. The aim is practical improvement — better answers, better technique, better results.

I take tutoring seriously and work in a calm, professional, and supportive way. Whether a student needs to improve confidence, catch up on content, or push for top grades, my focus is on helping them perform at their best in exams.
