About Laurence
I am now into my forth year of teaching English at secondary school level (not including my training year), and I have loved every minute of it! Each year, my GCSE students have come out with amazing results, which I am very proud of. Most students I have interacted with find it easy to strike up a relationship with me and therefore usually find my lessons more enjoyable. I am a classic geek and can point you in the direction of many extra curricular activities to aid your enjoyment of English, whether that be a reading list or some great films/tv shows. I will often incorporate media/film into a lot of my lessons because of the great parallels you can explore, but also because of my love for it.

Hello, I am a qualified English teacher who currently teachers at an Ofsted rated "Good" secondary school. I have the ability to teach content from KS3 up to A Level. To add to this, I did study English Language at the University of Newcastle, so would be willing to help university students. Whether you are studying for exams, or just need an extra hand with English, I offer a wide range of skills and knowledge to get you where you want to be.
Enjoying your lessons, as well as gaining the skills and knowledge needed is vitally important. My lessons are enjoyable and can be interactive to help you see perspectives or analyse a text. Reading is key to achieving across the curriculum, and I will embed this into the sessions that I run.
Usually, you can expect a session to last 40-60 minutes. At the end of the day, I can cater and plan around your needs. it is important to create the best learning environment for you!
