Hi, I’m a fully qualified New Zealand teacher offering private English tutoring in Auckland for primary and intermediate students. I have experience working in NZ and the UK, in both the NZ curriculum and Cambridge.
I specialise in helping children who may be struggling with reading and writing, as well as those who need a confidence boost or extension. My focus is on building strong foundations in literacy while making learning feel achievable and positive.
I believe that every student can succeed in literacy. The key is finding what makes the learning accessible for them. I tailor each session to the individual child, whether that’s through structured phonics support, guided writing, or using their interests to engage them in reading. When learning is pitched at the right level and taught in a way that makes sense to the learner, real progress happens.
I place a strong emphasis on:
Building confidence alongside skills
Clear, structured teaching - I hold a micro qualification in the Better Start Literacy Approach from the University of Canterbury to inform my practise.
Creating a calm, supportive environment where students feel safe to try
