About James

I initially trained in musical theatre before I became a psychotherapist. After several years I decided to hone my skill set in supporting personal and educational growth in students who feel that they require additional support. I have taught in Asia as a qualified English (ESOL) Teacher alongside 5 years' experience in a UK SEN academy and 4 years in mainstream academia. I am proud to say that I have ADHD and I celebrate the brilliant qualities that neurodiversity can give us.

About the lesson

I believe that there is no “one-size-fits-all” approach to teaching; I believe that the students and tutors should have the chance to get a chance to meet in a pressure-free environment for the student to decide if they feel comfortable. Also for the tutor to assess what school of pedagogy and/or theme of developmental assistance is most appropriate. It makes sense to work in a way that the learner feels most comfortable to receive a quality education. My approach is learner-centred and a typical session would be led by what you would like to focus on, rather than a rigid and structured syllabus
