About Julie
I have been teaching over 25 years. I enjoy teaching and as just as happy helping a pupil to prepare for an exam as i am helping them to play a fun song .
I play all of the instruments I teach up to Grade 8 standard.

I feel that one of my strengths is that I create a calm environment in which pupils feel confident to reach their full potential.
Everyone learns in a different way and I try to tailor the lesson to suit each pupil.
There are some brilliant You Tube videos that pupils can learn a lot from. I do feel though that it is important to build up a good technique before using these tutorials.
It is really good to have the focus of working towards an exam but I think it is important to try to improve and to learn more by practising the exam material instead of aiming to just ‘get the next certificate’.
