I am a very patient and calm person, but also have a lot of enthusiasm and like to have fun! Being a student myself, I really appreciate lessons that are engaging and can hold my interest. I grew up studying at an intercultural school and have taught English to refugees in Indonesia, so I am familiar with a variety of cultural backgrounds and teaching methods. I have also taken the IB program so I am familiar with their expectations in terms of assignment quality and writing style. If I were to teach an essay on persuasive essay writing, I would teach how to write a clear and concise thesis statement and how to use literary and rhetorical devices. I would teach the STEEL paragraph structure to ensure students have a strong outline for their essay that will link directly to their thesis statement. I can teach how to research effectively and do citations properly and I would feel comfortable teaching elementary students to freshmen in high school.
