About Sa'Renay
Hello wonderful people — a poet, music lover, and proud author of Makeup Only Looks Ugly When You Cry, which I published during my senior year of high school. Writing and poetry have always been my safe place — a way to turn feelings into something beautiful. Music inspires my rhythm, and life inspires my words.
As a young writer myself, I understand how intimidating it can be to put your work out into the world. That’s why I teach in a way that’s encouraging, down-to-earth, and creative. I want my students to feel comfortable expressing themselves, experimenting with words, and building confidence in their voice — whether they’re writing for school, for fun, or for publication.

I’m the author of Makeup Only Looks Ugly When You Cry, a debut poetry collection I wrote and published during my senior year of high school. My passion for words runs deep, and I love helping others discover the power of their own voice.
In my lessons, students will learn how to:

•Develop a unique voice through tone, imagery, and rhythm
•Master poetic devices like metaphor, simile, alliteration, and symbolism
