I follow Ernest Hemingway's belief that great writing begins with 'one true sentence'. The goal of any great piece of writing, be it novel or essay, begins with an economy of words in which every sentence is the best sentence that you can write. One true sentence will lead to one true paragraph until you have achieved one true work of literature. Depending upon whether you are looking to write high school or college essays, applications essays to college or just want to become adept at close reading, each teaching plan is tailored to your specific needs.
