About Allia
I’ve been teaching for 14 years, and what I want to say most about myself is that I believe students need to feel comfortable enough to take risks with their learning. They need to understand that everyone starts somewhere, and for some, the journey may be longer than others. But know, we all end up in the same destination, even if we have to take a detour first. That detour will be fun! I utilize gamification, authentic tasks related to students’ real-life interests, and discussion-based learning strategies.

By working with me, students will receive individually tailored lessons that are student-centered, engaging, and follow the gradual release model of “I do, we do, you do.” Students will receive constant feedback to determine if they are on track towards meeting our learning targets. Since I’ve taught grades 6 - 12, I’m able to work with a wide range of ages and content within the English subject. Finally, I’m a HOOT to work with. We’ll laugh and have fun while working on developing these critical skills needed in life.
