About Nery

I have 8 years of experience in Financial Auditing of local leaders companies (including local multinational enterprises branches) in sectors like: insurance, manufacturing, consumer products, among others. I have worked at two of the Big4 worldwide firms and served as Senior Auditor for 4 years.

In 2015 I joined the Ministry of Education of the Dominican Republic and became a certified accounting and math teacher after approving a huge number of training and tests.

Nowadays I am working as a financial consultant and give class some days night.

About the lesson

My teaching methods are basic. Firstabally, I make a diagnostic of the knolegde and skills of my students in order to guide the teaching-learning process then on. Math is based in logical thoughts, that is why I like to use guiders questions to make students reason insted of just give them the answer or solutions. While developing many excersises they are being evaluated, but not only they, me too and the whole process.

Here is an example of a single math class about adding and subtracting opperations:
START
Master performs exploration of previous knowledge: can they add and subtract natural numbers? Put 1 exercise of each. And add and subtract decimal numbers? Put 1 exercise of each.

Students: participate and solve.

Teacher presents the purpose of the day: addition and subtraction of decimal numbers.

DEVELOPMENT
Teacher exposes rule to add and subtract natural numbers. It shows difference with these operations in natural numbers.

Students: pay close attention.

Teacher asks questions about the theory to see if they understood. After which copy theory on blackboard for students to take notes.

Teacher makes examples on the blackboard and students take notes.

Teacher copies exercises on the blackboard: 2 additions and 2 subtractions to do in the classroom. They review exercises on the board asking for student participation.

CLOSING
Teacher makes a resumen of the class and answers related questions. Teacher releases a homework: 3 additions and 3 subtractions.
What was it about today? What did you think of the class?

I give math class for elementary and high school students, and teach spanish for workers or other adults who want to learn this language.
