About Toni

Howdy! I am Toni from Texas and I've been teaching a variety of subjects in English professionally for the last few years. I studied English, with a concentration in writing and rhetoric at the University of North Texas in Denton while also studying Psychology. I am a full-time teacher and I genuinely enjoy sharing my knowledge with adult-aged students. I lead energetic and memorable classes and while we may not always discuss rainbows and butterflies, I will go the extra mile to ensure that you understand the content in a memorable and often eccentric manner.

About the lesson

Along with a generalized psychology course ranging from child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric psychology, you will also have the option to learn about many cultural and historical taboos that have embedded their ways into everyday society. We will discuss religious taboos about bestiality and birth control, cultural taboos such as polygamy and death, food taboos of dining on domesticated animals, and cannibalism. We will discuss the origins of taboos, how they fester and proliferate throughout different societies, and learn how to challenge invasive taboos. These unique lectures are designed for upper-intermediate and advanced English speakers. Texts books and articles are welcomed and also referenced, in abundance.
