About Connie

I currently study Psychology at the University of Huddersfield and I look at Statistics throughout my studies. Statistics is one of my favourite areas so I am really comfortable with Maths and I also loved studying Maths during school. I used to struggle with my confidence in Maths so I had a tutor throughout primary school and then later on for GCSE so I understand that it can be hard sometimes but I hope to be the person to help you out and also bring some fun to learning. I also loved English in both aspects of Literature and Language because I like to analyse texts and wonder why an author may have written something or thinking about the deeper meanings. I enjoy creative writing especially as it allows me to express myself! Alongside Maths and English, I also offer History and Religious Studies, achieving an 8 in both at GCSE. Similar to Maths, History was, and still is, one of my favourite subjects. I grew up watching programmes on World War 2, Ancient Egypt and Ancient China and many more eras. I love discussing History as I find it is important to learn about where our culture has come from and how it has evolved and it's always fun to learn something that you didn't know about before! Like History, I enjoy talking about various religions and debating their views on various issues. I am a friendly and warm person and get along with all kinds of people and of all ages. I find I can come up with alternative solutions so I also like to try doing things a different way!

About the lesson

I focus on building confidence in my lessons and reducing exam anxiety so I get my students to be as independent as they can in lessons (with guidance if needed, of course!) My lessons are typically an hour so they usually consist of a quick 5-10 minute introduction to the lesson, 30-45 minutes on the main activity and 5-10 minutes at the end for an evaluation. I started working as a tutor a year ago and my passion for it has only grown! I have taught over 250 lessons so far and hope to only teach more. My lessons are usually for anyone learning anywhere from KS1 up to A-Level :)
