About Eleanor

My name is Eleanor and i’ve studied psychology for 3 years. i love the subject and think it’s so important for us to understand the mechanisms behind peoples behaviour. i want to teach others and help their learning because whilst studying for my a levels i realised how much more effective one on one sessions with a friend were then solo study sessions, they helped me keep focused and stick to a break schedule. i’ve helped a few of my friends with areas they’ve struggled with before in exam seasons, and when a concept they struggle with finally clicks the feeling of pride and accomplishment is amazing.

About the lesson

i found that the best approach to learning for me was a balance between exam practice, free recall of information and learning the information. exam practice not only tracks your progress and shows you which areas need more attention but the active recall has been proven to aid retention of information more effectively than simply reading notes. my sessions would be structured in ways that include reading of information/ making condensed notes and active recall in the form of exam question practice and quizzes. the more i get to know my threes the more i can structure sessions to areas that need more attention. most importantly i like to make sessions engaging, praise hard work and reflect on the session and record strengths and areas that need more attention in future sessions.
