About Daniel
I am a psychology student at Newcastle University. At A Level, I achieved AAA in Psychology, Maths, and Health & Social Care, meaning I am experienced in psychological theory, coursework and essay writing and statistical manipulation/research methods. I have previously volunteered with Action Tutoring where I taught 3 students GCSE maths. I will also be doing this scheme again in the next academic year. I am currently working at a 1st class standard in my university coursework and therefore know how to write essays and complete lab reports, as well as knowledge on how to revise psychological knowledge and creating resources.

I give lessons on different areas of psychology at A level and GCSE level (topics below). I studied AQA psychology at A level and know the exam technique well. I approach lessons with a student-centred mindset, focusing on what my tutees wish to learn about and the level of difficulty they wish to learn. I aim to challenge my students (within their capabilities) with the main aim of building confidence alongside the reinforcement or learning of knowledge. I try to work with my tutees to design a lesson structure that brings out the best of their abilities while also improving areas of difficulty.
I was the teaching and learning representative in my sixth form management team. This gave me an insight into what students need from their teachers to do their best in- and outside of the classroom. Furthermore, I did my A Levels in 2018 (and my GCSEs in 2016) so I can still remember what it is like to be a high school student!
Topics that I have covered in my own academic career include (but are not limited to) approaches in psychology; memory; attachment; psychopathology; biopsychology; social influence; schizophrenia; issues & debates in psychology; sensation & perception; developmental psychology; cognitive psychology; relationships; aggression and research methods/statistics, but I can also cover other areas of psychology that your course requires.
