About Kimberley
I have just graduated from my Master's in Psychological Research with a Distinction grade. I also hold a First Class Honours in Psychology.
My undergraduate dissertation was graded at 95%, for which the British Psychological Society Welsh Branch awarded me a "Best Dissertation" prize.
I have performed well in all of my modules throughout my university education. I have received A grades or above for 24 of my modules and a B grade for the remaining few. However, I do have particular expertise in the following areas :
- Statistics and research methods
- Consumer Psychology (I was awarded the Bangor University award for the highest consumer psychology grade)
- Evolutionary Psychology
- Biological bases of neurological disorders
- Applied Behavioural Psychology
- EEG and EEG-based research methods
- Biological Psychology
- Psychology as a science (and the philosophy behind it)
I have also studied Psychology (A), Biology (A), and Creative writing (B) at A-Level, with Maths (B) at AS level. Additionally, I have 9 GCSE's A*-B, including Maths, Statistics, and BIology.
In addition to teaching these subject areas, I can also help with presentation advice, study skills, lab skills, organisational advice, etc. If you have any skills at all that need refining, I can help you out.

I understand that people learn best in different ways. My teaching methodology is therefore flexible and will be tailored towards you as an individual. I offer a free first session in which we will discuss the topics you wish to cover, your academic goals, skills you wish to develop, any problem areas, and your preferred methods of learning. We will then work together to create a plan-of-action allowing you to get the most out of your experience.
The methods I use will therefore be heavily dependent on you and your most effective ways of learning. It will also depend on the level that you are studying - the methods I use for teaching GCSE and graduate-level Psychology will likely be very different. Here are some examples of methods I may use in a session. This list is not exclusive, and my teaching will likely involve a combination of these and additional methods:
- Lectures and PowerPoint presentations given through screen-sharing technology
- Call-and-response sessions
- In-depth discussions
- Online or in-person (via-webcam) quizzes
- Q&A sessions led by the student
- Hypothetical case studies
- Help with developing a plan for an essay or assignment
- Proofreading and help with expanding essays and practice exam questions
- SPSS (a statistics software often used in Psychology) tutorials
- Reviews of relevant published papers
I am a friendly and approachable tutor. I have been a student for a long time, having completed my GCSE's, A-Levels, an undergraduate degree, and a Master's in Psychology. I understand what it is like to miss something, or not quite understand the way the lecturer has explained something. I love studying, but also understand that it is often HARD, and so I have a strict 'no-stupid questions' policy. I encourage you to ask about anything and everything relating to what we cover.
I am happy to tutor anyone with any level of understanding of Psychology (from none to graduate level). All I ask from you as a potential student is that you actively engage with the topic as much as you can.

Kim was exceptionally helpful during my exams and my essay writing. She has a strong grasp on academic writing and on statistical analysis, which was amazing as I'm not confident in those areas. She was helpful and logical, and I'm so pleased with her work
