About Helena
I am a Psychology and Communications student at the Australian Catholic University. I am an experienced tutor for a range of subjects such as math and English, and have tutored VCE literature after achieving a 44 study score. I also have a passion for creative writing, and was state finalist for the Somerset National Poetry Prize in 2024. I believe my passion for literature and knowledge of the Victorian curriculum makes me a perfect tutor, who creates a warm, supportive and fun learning environment.

I believe my role as a tutor is to give students a strong foundation to feel confident in their skills, and also encourage them to find passion and fun in the process. I have been a private tutor for one year and have previously facilitated mentoring sessions for VCE literature. For High School English students, my sessions run for an hour, and focus on building specific skills in writing, text analysis, and comprehension through activities and discussions. In VCE Lit, we focus on honing writing precision and widening the student's vocabulary, as well as learning to deeply analyze a variety of texts.
