Hello! I'm an A-level English Literature student with a proven track record of academic success in English, having achieved top marks (grade 8-9s) at GCSE. My passion for English extends beyond academics—I’m also a dedicated writer of stories and poetry, bringing creativity and depth to each lesson.

I have a huge passion for literature, with an extensive interest in scandalous plotlines—from old feminist literature, such as Jane Austen and the Brontë sisters, to political fiction like Animal Farm and 1984 by George Orwell (or Eric Blair, if you must). I’m fascinated by how literature mirrors society, challenges ideas, and sparks change.

I want to teach because I believe everyone deserves the chance to see how powerful words can be. Literature is more than just words on a page; it’s a gateway to understanding the world, history, and ourselves. I want to help students uncover this depth, feel confident in their analytical and writing skills, and experience the joy of exploring literature fully. My goal is to equip each student not just for exams, but with skills they can carry forward—whether they’re analyzing a classic novel or crafting their own story. Let’s make English not just something to study but something to enjoy and grow from.

About the lesson

I focus on creating a supportive, engaging environment that builds students’ confidence in English. My teaching style emphasizes understanding core concepts and breaking down difficult areas, like essay structure, analysis, and creative writing. Each lesson is usually one hour long. For more intensive needs, such as GCSE exam prep, I may extend sessions to 1.5 hours upon request. I am currently an A-level Literature student with a strong academic background in English, having achieved grade 8-9s at GCSE. Outside of academics, I have practical experience in reading mentorship and have worked with children while volunteering at a children’s centre. As a writer, I bring insights into storytelling, poetry, and creative expression, which can inspire students to develop their voices and writing styles. My lessons are tailored for GCSE English students and anyone interested in improving their English skills. I’m open to working with younger students who may need support with basic reading and writing or older students looking to refine their analytical and writing abilities.
