About Jim
I am creative type with a deep academic background. I was initially trained as an anthropologist (BA), then as an historian (MA & PhD), and finally as a designer (MFA). I have taught learners at every level from primary school to graduate school to the world of work for the last 20+ years and I plan to do so for the rest of my life! The philosophies with which I subscribe are Reggio, Waldorf, and Montessori.

My teaching approach is learner centered and based off a new set of 3R's: relational, responsive, & relevant. This means that we co-create the learning environment together. We develop a deep understanding of one another as learners and we use that empathy and insight to build a world of wonder around writing. This is not a pedagogy but more of an anthrogogy, a belief that learning is a lifelong human act that defines not only what and how we think but our identity as well.
