About Maeve

My passion for programming began when I realized that even small pieces of logic can create powerful systems and meaningful tools. This curiosity led me to earn a B.Sc in Computing Technology followed by an M.Sc in Advanced Software Engineering, where I studied both theoretical foundations and professional development practices. Over 13 years of teaching experience, I have supported students of all levels, helping them transform uncertainty into confidence through patient guidance and structured learning.

I believe programming should be taught through understanding, exploration, and consistent practice rather than memorization alone. My teaching style focuses on breaking complex challenges into manageable steps, explaining concepts clearly, and encouraging learners to ask questions freely. I help students develop independence by understanding why code works, not just how to write it. Many learners progress quickly once they feel supported in building reasoning skills.

Outside tutoring, I stay engaged with programming through personal software projects, emerging technology exploration, and continual learning. Teaching programming is deeply fulfilling because I witness students grow into confident problem solvers who can create and innovate through code.

About the lesson

Computer programming becomes far more approachable when students understand that coding is not about memorizing commands, but about learning how to think clearly and solve problems step by step. In my lessons, I guide learners through Python, Java, algorithms, data structures, object-oriented programming, and debugging techniques in a way that feels structured, supportive, and confidence-building. I focus on helping students understand the logic behind each concept so they can create solutions independently rather than copying patterns. Lessons are interactive, practical, and designed to make learners feel comfortable experimenting and improving steadily.

Each session is adapted to the learner’s level and goals. Beginners start with the foundations of variables, loops, conditions, and simple exercises that build logical thinking. Intermediate learners develop stronger programming ability through functions, modular design, debugging practice, and structured project work. Advanced students focus on algorithm optimization, APIs, software architecture, interview preparation, and building larger applications. Every lesson includes hands-on coding practice, guided correction, and explanation that strengthens understanding deeply.

Programming lessons also build patience, creativity, resilience, and analytical thinking that benefits learners beyond technology. Many students feel empowered once they see their ideas become real programs. My goal is to help students trust their ability to learn coding, solve problems, and grow confidently in the modern digital world.
