About Marianne
I have been passionate about programming since discovering that logical thinking can create practical solutions, which led me to pursue a Master’s in Computer Science. Over 8 years of teaching, I have helped students understand coding concepts clearly while fostering creativity, problem-solving skills, and computational thinking. My teaching emphasises patience, clear explanations, and a supportive learning environment.
I focus on helping students progress at their own pace, using stepwise guidance, examples, and hands-on exercises. Lessons encourage curiosity, experimentation, and independent thinking, allowing students to develop confidence in both learning and applying programming skills.
Outside the classroom, I continue exploring new programming languages, frameworks, and technologies to keep lessons relevant and engaging. Witnessing students transform from hesitant learners into confident coders, capable of solving problems creatively, is deeply rewarding. I aim to instil both skill and confidence, inspiring students to explore programming independently and with enthusiasm.

Programming becomes much easier when students understand the step-by-step logic behind software and algorithms. In my lessons, I focus on building a strong foundation in Python, Java, problem-solving, object-oriented programming, and computational thinking. Students are encouraged to experiment, make mistakes, and learn from them, helping them grow confident in creating functional programmes and thinking algorithmically. Lessons also include interactive exercises and real-world applications to reinforce learning.
I customise lessons to the student’s level. Beginners start with variables, loops, conditional statements, and small projects. Intermediate learners practise modular coding, functions, and debugging techniques. Advanced students tackle algorithms, data structures, and project development for exams or competitions. Each class combines explanation, coding practice, and reasoning guidance to ensure comprehensive skill development and confidence.
Programming education goes beyond writing code; it cultivates logical thinking, structured reasoning, and creativity. Students develop analytical skills, problem-solving confidence, and the ability to plan and implement solutions independently. My goal is to empower learners to approach coding challenges creatively and systematically, building confidence to solve real-world problems through programming.
