About Didaskalos
I have been using ChatGPT since the very first week it launched in November 2022. Like many of you, I started as a complete beginner with no coding background — just curiosity and a desire to understand what AI could do for me.
Over time, I became a power user of web-based AI tools. But I wanted more: privacy, no subscriptions, no limits. That is what led me to discover opencode, a local AI assistant that runs entirely on your own computer. I am not a seasoned developer — I am an enthusiast who learned by doing, making mistakes, and figuring things out one step at a time.
What I bring to you is not years of programming experience, but the fresh memory of what it feels like to be lost in a terminal, to not understand the jargon, and to wish someone would just explain it simply. I am a true Didaskalos — I teach because I love helping others make sense of things that seem complicated at first.

My teaching approach is built on one simple belief: you do not need to be a programmer to use local AI tools. If you can use ChatGPT, you can use opencode — and I will show you how, step by step, in plain English.
My method and techniques
I teach from the perspective of a fellow learner, not an expert. I started using opencode just a few weeks ago with no advanced coding background, so I know exactly where beginners get stuck. Every concept is explained without jargon, and every command is demonstrated live so you can see exactly what happens. My goal is to make you self-sufficient — not to overwhelm you with technical details you will never use.
A typical lesson plan
1. Quick check-in on your goals and what you want to be able to do with opencode (5 min)
2. Introduction of one new concept or feature, explained simply with a real example (15 min)
3. Live demonstration on my screen while you follow along (15 min)
4. You try it yourself with my guidance in real time (15 min)
5. Summary and a small challenge to practice before the next session (5 min)
What sets me apart as a tutor
I am not a seasoned developer teaching down to you — I am someone who just went through the same learning curve you are facing. I remember the confusion, the error messages, and the moments where nothing made sense. That empathy shapes every lesson. I also genuinely believe that local AI should be accessible to everyone, not just developers, and I want to help bridge that gap.
