About Ricardo
I am a compassionate nurse leader with over 23 years of diverse clinical, management and academia experience. My teaching experience has allowed me to mentor and learn from others with diverse backgrounds and contribute to the development of our future nurses. Having broad teaching experiences has helped me narrow my areas of focus and educate using a learner-centered approach.
Ambulatory Care and nursing leadership have been my primary specialty areas, where I’ve worked in a variety of health care settings. My recent administrative and leadership practice experience enhances my teaching by adding a richer exchange of reflection and shared learning. My research interests have been focused on improving patient satisfaction and supporting nurse transition to practice initiatives. My teaching practice is rooted in Dr. Jean Watson’s Caring Science framework and I'm passionate in exploring ways to incorporate Caring Science into nursing practice.
