For specific kinds of writing, I teach online with a very structured methodology:
Creative Writing: I explain story structure and narrative skills and give examples and in-class exercises to practice these skills. I explain character development and A stories and B stories. Assignments include short story composition. I review these stories and provide notes for improvement, if necessary.
Essay Writing: I explain the importance of developing a thesis statement and provide examples of citation styles. I demonstrate methods of research to strengthen the essay's argument. I also show how to create a bibliography, title page, and other standard formats of an essay.
Dissertation Writing: As this is an extensive process in writing, I take the student through a framework that provides an organized structure that presents the research in specific categories of analysis. Other standard elements and formats consistent with dissertation writing are also included.
As an award-winning academic researcher and professor, I provide the highest level of professional instruction in all forms of writing.
