About Sarah

I am a professionally qualified English tutor with 29 years’ experience teaching English as a foreign language. In addition to teaching general English at all levels, I have many years experience in preparing students for the following internationally recognised exams: IELTS (academic and general); GESE and ISE (SELT); Cambridge KET and PET; Cambridge First Certificate (FCE); Cambridge Advanced Exam (CAE); Cambridge Proficiency Exam (CPE).

I also prepare students for English exams specific to the healthcare sector, and for visa, licence and job applications. I am a registered English teaching consultant to Amnesty International in London.

About the lesson

I accept students of all ages and levels, including children. My English lessons are always tailored to the individual, resulting in clear and well-structured tuition to help with your specific needs.

Quickly identifying challenges unique to each student, whether grammar, writing or pronunciation, helps overcome those frustrating stumbling blocks that many learners face. Help with speaking and pronunciation, which is often a challenge for less confident students, is regularly requested too.

By introducing a little fun into the process relaxes even the most conservative learner, encouraging them to speak without fear of making mistakes. I also regularly teach English to professionals from a broad range of business and academic sectors, including law, finance and industry.

Preparing students for the Cambridge and IELTS examinations is my specialist area. I offer a trial one-to-one lesson to all students considering private tuition. The lesson is completely free and there is no obligation to continue.
