About Dennis

I've been a professional writer and editor for more than 25 years now, and I've been writing for fun for way longer. I've worked in pretty much every medium (fiction, nonfiction, humor, journalism, screenwriting and playwriting to name a few). Not a single project has ever been done without at least a few frustrated tears. Odds are, whatever problem you have today, I've dealt with something similar at one point or another.

I love discussing craft and creativity, and I'm a patient listener. Assisting other writers through issues is a genuine love of mine. Plus, I feel like I owe a lot back to the universe.

About the lesson

I've spent decades devising tools to get stubborn words out of my head and onto pages. And I love to share them.

I firmly believe that anybody with a genuine desire to write *can* write. It's just a matter of figuring out the method that works for *you*. I'd be thrilled and honored to be the person who helps you find it.

I use the 5 Whys Root-Cause Analysis method for uncovering stumbling blocks to our creative output (whether it be writer's block or a frustrating inability to find the heartbeat of your story). Once we've identified an issue, we can choose from an exhaustive list of methods to get past it.
