About Aliyu

My name is Abdulkareem Ayinde, a professional Yoruba teacher from Nigeria love teaching so much especially when teaching my course of study which is Yoruba language. already developing my career in that direction. My students should expect lovely and interactive class that would yield impactful knowledge of Yoruba language from me. They should also expect series of interesting and meaningful Yoruba rhymes and songs that would never make them bored. All the segments of the learning would be imparted diligently and intelligently.

About the lesson

Professional Yoruba Teacher teaches the language which has 4 to 5 branches comprising Yoruba grammar, phonetics & phonology, culture as well as Literature. All the aspects of the branches can best be understood when using relevant illustrations, methodology, instructional materials coupled with the passionate teaching. As a professional Yoruba Teacher, I can teach all the aspects effectively and my students would become fluent in speaking, writing understanding, knowledgeable in learning Yoruba.

Perfect! Mr Aliyu is a hidden gem in the Yoruba tutors on SuperProf. His teaching style is engaging, and incredibly effective. He has a broad understanding of Yoruba from the standard to local dialects to even slang! From the very first lesson, you can feel his passion for the language and culture, making learning Yoruba very exciting. He is always prompt, reliable and diligent in planning his lessons. All while still allowing for the many questions, videos and interpretations I bring to the table. So far, he has not missed one class or one questions. Perfect record.

Mr. Aliyu is great at explaining and adjusting to my learning levels. After having a challenging time reading and pronouncing Yoruba he explained àmì ohùn (the diacritics we use to indicate tone) are like musical notes changing the tone of a word. It was such a lightbulb moment – suddenly, the tones made sense! I can now read nearly fluently. That's the thing about Mr. Aliyu – he always finds a way to make even the trickiest concepts easy to understand. He's been very open to any videos or interpretations I bring to "class" and we break whatever it is down, so its been more fun than just the core curriculum.

Honestly, my Yoruba has come so far thanks to him. I was recently complimented on my perfect pronunciation (of a song and phrases) all thanks to my classes. I'm now more confident to speak to native Yoruba speakers. He's not just a teacher; he's a guide, a mentor, and someone who truly cares about your language journey. In our classes Mr Aliyu will explain the language, the culture, the history, the Orisha, the geography, to ensure the context of the topic is well understood (this might not be as deep for others but I ask and I have an interest and he has been kind enough to provide this). If you want to learn Yoruba and have a blast doing it, he is simply the best.

I don't understand Yoruba, and this subject has not been smooth for my twins since primary school.
They are now in SS1, and always hovering around 9-10. I'm sure it's a way for the teachers to just let them go.

When Uncle Aliyu took them for a few weeks, these guys smashed it and scored 15 and 16. I couldn't believe.

Since the twins prefer Chinese, I've had to pause their learning, but I'm already talking them through resuming with him. He's that good, caring an focused. Always on time. Don't hesitate to hire him for yourself or your children. You'll thank yourself for doing that. Thanks uncle Tope for your kindness and dedication
