About Connor

I began learning web development in 2018 after working in retail for several years and feeling the need to move onto something more fulfilling and challenging. I spent time learning on my own, but also with a small local community of developers which greatly accelerated my progress and my motivation. With the help of the developers around me, I was able to go from zero to getting paid work in about 6 months of hard work. Doing this taught me the power of community and having other motivated people to work with, which is something that I have helped to provide for hundreds of students over the last 4 years as an instructor at Bay Valley Tech Code Academy.

About the lesson

As a self-taught programmer myself, I understand how intimidating it can be to learn software development and how easy it can be to fall into self-doubt and impostor syndrome. My focus in teaching and tutoring has always been to break down hard subjects into manageable pieces and using analogies to help make sense of hard concepts. I aim to provide a compassionate and understanding environment for students to thrive and feel comfortable asking any question without fear of condescension or judgment. Whether you are an absolute beginner, or a Computer Science student I believe I can help you with your web programming goals.
