About Maya

Hello, thank you for visiting my profile! I am Maya, a professional violinist with a bachelor's degree in music and international teaching experience. The violin has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember and has always been an important part of my personal development. In my lessons, I emphasise healthy posture, both physically and mentally. By this I mean both an ergonomic and comfortable way of using our bodies when playing the violin, as well as learning this instrument with joy and curiosity. I look forward to supporting you competently on your journey and helping you enjoy learning the violin.

About the lesson

I teach violin with passion and take a holistic approach. This means that as part of learning the violin, I also offer exercises in body awareness that will refine your sensitivity and thereby improve your violin playing. Focusing on beneficial posture in general allows you to truly enjoy playing the violin. You will learn interesting pieces of music and refine the violin technique required for them through études and technical exercises. In this way, we will build or expand a solid technique and enable you to express yourself freely through music. If you play in chamber music ensembles or an orchestra, we can also work on this literature together. My lessons are aimed at anyone who has already had at least six months of violin lessons in person, so that the basics of posture are clear. Even if you are already much further along on your instrument and have been playing for many years, or if your fingers are itching to play again after a break, you are very welcome to learn with me. Thanks to my bachelors degree in music (performance and music education) I can professionally accompany you on your journey with the violin. Currently, lessons are held exclusively online. I look forward to meeting you!
