About Hannah
I'm a songwriter, composer, and pianist who has spent 20+ years working professionally in music. I was a member of the nationally touring folk-pop-rock band SHEL, where I co-produced an album with Dave Stewart of Eurythmics and earned song placements on ABC Family, MTV, and in a Nicholas Sparks film. My compositions have aired on NPR, and I continue to write and place music independently.
Alongside performing and composing, I've taught piano privately since 2019 — managing my own studio, building my student roster from scratch, and developing individualized approaches for each student. I know what it takes to grow as a musician because I've lived it at a professional level, and I bring that real-world perspective into every lesson.

Maybe you want to understand what chords sound good together — so you can stop guessing and start choosing intentionally? Or do you just want to know how to even start a song? That's exactly what these lessons are for. Every session is built around the music you love to listen to and the music you'd love to create — not a generic curriculum. We work on what you actually need: starting or finishing a song, fixing a verse, writing a melody that sticks, or unlocking the theory behind the sounds you're already drawn to. You don't need to read music. You don't need to have written anything yet. You just need to have some curiosity about the process and something you want to say or express. I'm a songwriter with 20+ years of professional experience, TV and film placements, and an album co-produced with Dave Stewart of Eurythmics. I'll share what I've learned that actually works and help you find what works best for you.

Details
I teach 30 minute lessons for $50, or 1hr for $80. All you need is a phone or iPad, and a notebook. We can use FaceTime or Zoom.
