About Selena
I am Selena Whitford, a USA-based professional mathematics and statistics tutor with 8 years of teaching experience. I specialize in helping students improve both confidence and performance in mathematics through structured and supportive learning systems.
I have received the “Advanced Mathematical Guidance Award 2023” and the “Professional Statistics Achievement Medal” for helping students achieve consistent academic success in mathematics and statistics courses.
Outside teaching, I enjoy logic puzzles, educational research reading, and mathematical modeling activities. Statistics and mathematics are essential subjects that develop analytical thinking and logical problem-solving abilities. In my online one-to-one live sessions, I teach K-12 students, high school learners, college first-year students, and bachelor first-year learners through structured and professional methods designed for academic improvement.
I begin with strong foundational topics such as arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and precalculus. Many students experience difficulty because they miss conceptual understanding in earlier stages, so I carefully rebuild those foundations using step-by-step explanations and guided practice exercises. I also include mental math strategies and accuracy improvement techniques.
As students progress, I introduce advanced topics including calculus, probability, data interpretation, and statistical analysis. Students learn how to solve equations efficiently, understand formulas logically, and analyze graphs and datasets accurately. I also help students prepare for quizzes, academic tests, and standardized assessments with focused practice sessions.
In advanced learning stages, I teach applied statistics, research interpretation, and real-world data analysis methods. Students develop confidence in handling complex mathematical questions while improving speed and logical reasoning.
