About Koustav
I'm Koustav Chatterjee, a Mumbai-based singer-songwriter, music director, lyricist and performer with over a decade of experience in the Indian music industry. Trained in Hindustani Classical Music, my journey has taken me from live performances and independent music to composing, songwriting and working within professional recording studios alongside acclaimed composers and artists.
My work spans Bollywood-inspired vocals, independent music, songwriting, live performance, artist management and music marketing. As an independent artist, my original music has reached millions through digital platforms, headlined indie festivals, and earned recognition, including a nomination for the Indian Music Awards for Best Lyricist.
I believe that being a successful musician today requires far more than technical skill. It demands artistic identity, storytelling, stage presence and a clear understanding of the evolving music industry. This philosophy forms the foundation of my teaching.
Whether you're a complete beginner, an aspiring playback singer, a singer-songwriter looking to create original music, or an independent artist building your career, my sessions combine vocal training, songwriting, performance coaching and practical industry insights to help you grow as a complete musician.
My goal is simple: to help every student find their own voice—not just as a singer, but as an artist.

I'm a professional singer-songwriter, music director and lyricist with over 10 years of experience performing live, composing original music and working across independent and commercial projects. My teaching focuses on developing strong fundamentals while helping every student discover and refine their own artistic identity.
