I am a teacher with over 25 years experience teaching secondary school geography. I have an excellent understanding of the current assessment requirements at GCSE and A level and have worked privately with individuals with their NEA, exam preparation and revision, to great success.

I focus on clarity and assume nothing, checking understanding of language, exam rubric, processes as theories. I assess your understanding to inform the direction of our lessons and plan individual learning activities and teaching. I will set work to be carried out between sessions focussing on a mixture of consolidation, testing and looking toward, marking and returning written work promptly with clear feedback on how to improve the work further. I listen to you the student, look at your notes and gather any school teacher feedback that you have received in your work, parents evenings or reports in order to gauge your needs and support all the hard work taking place in school.
Lessons include using contemporary materials - articles, examples - to engage you the learner. I help to contextualise and clarify links across the course to ensure you can access the higher marks found in exam questions. I use exam material and apply every lesson to the assessment requirements. I will expect you to go away and find out more and I will set homework with clear deadlines.
