About Alexcis
As an experienced educator and current news anchor and producer, I am passionate about helping students grow academically, communicate confidently, and reach their full potential. With five years of teaching experience in the Greenwood Leflore Consolidated School District, I have worked with students from pre-K through high school, developing a strong understanding of different learning styles and educational needs.
My approach to tutoring is patient, supportive, and personalized. I believe every student has the ability to succeed when given the right guidance, encouragement, and tools. I strive to create a welcoming learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, building new skills, and celebrating their progress.
In addition to my classroom experience, my professional background in journalism has strengthened my skills in reading, writing, research, communication, and public speaking. I use these skills to make lessons engaging, practical, and relevant to students’ everyday lives.

My tutoring approach is student-centered, engaging, and tailored to each learner’s individual needs, learning style, and goals. With five years of teaching experience in the Greenwood Leflore Consolidated School District, working with students from pre-K through high school, I understand the importance of meeting students where they are and helping them build confidence as they learn. As a current news anchor and producer, I also bring strong communication, writing, reading, and presentation skills that I incorporate into my teaching.
My Teaching Methods and Techniques
I believe students learn best in a supportive environment where they feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and exploring new ideas. I use clear explanations, real-world examples, guided practice, interactive activities, and positive encouragement to make learning enjoyable and effective. I adjust my teaching methods to fit each student's strengths, challenges, and pace.
A Typical Lesson Plan
Each lesson begins with a brief review of the student's current knowledge and learning goals. Next, I introduce the topic using simple explanations and relatable examples. We then work through practice activities together before moving toward independent work to strengthen understanding and build confidence. I end each session by reviewing key concepts, celebrating progress, and identifying areas that may need additional practice.
