About Bhanuka
# About Me and Why I Teach
My name is Bhanuka Warnasooriya, and music has been an important part of my life for many years. Alongside playing the piano, I am an organist and choral director with a particular interest in a cappella singing and barbershop harmony. My extensive musical education and professional performance experience have allowed me to explore different genres, styles and approaches to making music.
I have previously taught students across a wide range of ages and abilities. These experiences have shown me that every student learns differently, so I aim to make each lesson personal, encouraging and suited to the individual.
I teach because I enjoy sharing the confidence, creativity and enjoyment that music can bring. I believe learning the piano should feel exciting rather than intimidating. As a young and energetic teacher, I bring enthusiasm, patience and a friendly approach to every lesson. My goal is not only to help students improve their technique and musical understanding, but also to help them discover their own love of music.

Hi, I’m a friendly, patient and experienced piano tutor who enjoys helping students of all ages and abilities develop their musical skills and confidence.
My lessons are personal, practical and tailored to each student’s goals. Whether you are a complete beginner, returning to the piano, preparing for an exam or simply learning for enjoyment, I will support you at a pace that feels comfortable and motivating.
I teach a wide variety of musical genres and offer in-person practical piano lessons, as well as music theory lessons both online and in person. With extensive professional performance and teaching experience, I can provide clear guidance while keeping lessons enjoyable, encouraging and inspiring.
I also offer a flexible timetable to make lessons easier to fit around school, work and family commitments. I would be delighted to help you begin or continue your musical journey!
