About Konstantin

At the Royal College of Music I have used many chances to learn from the best of the best of Hollywood film composers, among others Harry Gregson-Williams (OST "Narnia", "Shrek" and "Prometheus"), George Fenton (OST "Planet Earth" and "Groundhog Day"), and Richard Bellis (OST "It"). Additionally, I have held many workshops at schools so as colleges around London, the Netherlands and Germany. I am teaching students at any age for many years now, and helped them learning an instrument as well as understanding music theory. Finally, I have learned a lot about methodology from my former professors. Therefore, I feel more than capable to share all of my experience with you!

About the lesson

I offer lessons in composition, especially film music, orchestration and music theory for students (including prospective students), young people, advanced, and simply interested people in London. I successfully completed my Master of Composition at the Royal College of Music last summer and now want to support the next generation in learning this great passion of mine. Before London I studied in the Netherlands, which means Dutch-speaking students are welcome, too. Film music is an increasingly popular speciality of the composition field and therefore on an upcoming path. It is not only popular among musicians but also for nearly everyone else, who loves at least one film score. Classical composition too is an important part, which is why I offer a range from Vaughan Williams to Wagner and John Williams to Hans Zimmer (orchestral music - computer music).

As a child I had piano lessons from, let's say, a terrible piano teacher and have not touched the piano for 15 years now. I wanted to refresh my hobby and was looking for a new piano teacher who is patient and who will respond to my wishes, and that is Konstantin. In the few months that he has been teaching me, he has brought me further than I would have ever thought - thanks to my two left hands. It's fun, he shows me tricks and is forgiving if I miss some keys every once in a while. But practice is a must. So if you need a piano teacher who will take you forward and also make it fun, Konstantin is your superprof! :)
