About Mayson

BA(hon) in Chinese Language and Literature, Postgraduate Diploma in Education (Chinese) at University of Hong Kong, Qualified Mandarin Teacher trained in Beijing Normal University.

Experienced in teaching in Primary and Secondary schools for 15years and specialised in teaching student with variety levels and needs. Last 5 years, I have taught Chinese to people from UK, Sweden, German, France, Italy, Africa, and among them some were students, doctors, postdoctoral researchers, writers, musicians, dancers and artistists.

I have as well taught Chinese to people with learning disabilities, includes people with autism, down syndrome, gifted and talented.

Currently I study in MFA Creative Practice at Trinity Laban, pursuing a master research about language and movement.

About the lesson

I offer group, one to one and in-company lessons.

The lessons are based on your needs and all aspects of the language can be covered. They can also be structured around your existing knowledge of the language, helping you to take a step forward in your learning and building your confidence. The learning material is provided.

GROUPS Groups can be organised with a maximum of 4 people to ensure efficiency. Groups are a great way to be challenged, to have fun and to keep motivation at a high level. They are great for adults and children.

APPROACH I am passionate about teaching and believe that my enthusiasm will benefit your learning. I am a really sociable, friendly and non judgmental teacher who loves to meet new people and talk with them. I think that languages can be taught more effectively with interesting and fun lessons and in my opinion learning Chinese should never be boring!

The lesson is to enhance your communication skills and develop your knowledge of the Chinese language in order to be able to actively converse in Mandarin.

My structured teaching method reflects an effective, gradual and comprehensive way of learning the language. From both my experience and studies, I have learnt how to easily explain the grammar and also how to adapt my teaching method to individual needs whilst maintaining a high level of quality and accuracy by spotting the areas that need to be improved and by paying a particular attention to details.

I am completely dedicated to my clients' learning journey. I am always enthusiastic and I like to push people to exceed their expectations.

Perfect! Mayson is an excellent teacher. Her lessons are well tailored to me, always fun and aligned with the HSK curriculum as I requested them to be. Details

The first lesson will be divided into 3 parts for 45min. The first 15mins will be an assessment to go through the basic oral skills, tonality, writing and comprehension in Chinese. The second 15mins will be a taught session with an agreed focus according to the result of the assessment. The last 15 mins will be a session for consultation.

At the end of the first lesson, the client will
-receive an overview of the learning needs analysis of the language
-brief learning goals and strategies recommendations
-be guided to establish an effective plan of learning this language from a long-term perspective, practically and sustainably
