About Emily
I am a dedicated professional holding a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics and Psychology from the University of Alberta. My background in phonology, syntax and sociocultural communications allows me to break down the English language with technical precision. I like to make each session engaging and laid-back, so that my students are confident and comfortable to try their best! I offer a free 30-minute meet and greet to discuss what level of English support you would like.
I have two main streams:
1. ESL lessons: This is perfect for adult immigrant learners who would like support with reading, writing, listening and speaking. I offer real-world English tools for everyday needs such as preparing for the Citizenship exam, transportation and shopping, resume writing, and conversational English.
2. Academic editing and proofreading: This is perfect for the high-school student or undergraduate student who would like support with editing, refining grammar, and APA/MLA style annotations. Within my scope of expertise are: formal paper writing, creative writing, and professional CV writing.
