About María
As a Freelance Illustrator, I mainly work for the children's sector creating illustrated books, publications for magazines, digital media, designing characters or settings for animation series, and creating prints and illustrations for clothes and toys.
Usually, I work with Adobe Photoshop and a Wacom Cintiq 24hd, or a more handy Huion desktop graphic tablet, but I also work with programs such as Clip Studio Paint, Procreate on the IPad, Krita, Adobe Illustrator ...

When it comes to teaching my students, the most important thing is to see what their needs and interests are because every student is different. I usually create my classes totally personalized according to what each one needs and I adapt to their learning pace.
My classes are usually one or two hours long in which we will learn to become fluent with the tablet and get to know all the resources that each program offers us. Some of the things you will learn will be:
- Human and animal anatomy
- Composition
- Color theory
- Lighting: lights and shadows to create an attractive atmosphere
- Rendering and export: give a good finish to our works and the best format to share them
- Portfolio: how to organize and present your work to potential clients
I have so many resources like magazines, books, publications, web pages ... that will help you to learn and have a good understanding of the illustration scenario nowadays.
