About Lian
I’m a guitarist, composer, and educator with degrees from Berklee College of Music (Magna Cum Laude) and the Aaron Copland School of Music (Summa Cum Laude), where I studied jazz performance and composition under renowned mentors like Tim Miller, Mick Goodrick, Mike Moreno, and Antonio Hart.
My work blends modern jazz with melodic and textural elements from folk, flamenco, and contemporary improvisation. I’ve performed internationally across the U.S., Europe, and Latin America in festivals, jazz clubs, and creative projects — including collaborations with Leo Brouwer, Sherman Robertson, and original ensembles in New York and beyond.
As an educator, I’ve taught at institutions like Berklee, Brooklyn Music School, and The Piano School of NYC, and I currently offer personalized private instruction in jazz guitar, harmony, and composition — helping students develop a solid creative foundation while finding their own musical voice.
