About Joseph
Film critic and film lover living in New York City. The son of two ordained ministers who had my most formative times talking about movies and theology with my parents around the dinner table, I've spent the past ten years of my life interacting with this medium on a professional level, from writing film criticism for Forbes, Relevant, An Unexpected Journal, Religion Unplugged and more, to making award-nominated short films, to starting my own podcast about culture and philosophy, "The Overthinkers". I will make it fun to think deeply about how we tell the stories we tell about ourselves so that they touch other people the way such stories have touched us, and we can have the words to write or talk with each other about what we love.

I'm a professional film critic with over 10 years of experience a publications like Forbes, Relevant, Religion Unplugged, and An Unexpected Journal who specializes in screenwriting and storytelling. I will be able to teach you how to tell the story you want to tell with all the tools the medium has to offer-- as well as give you secrets into what film critics, like me, look for. Or, if you want to be a film critic, I will help you be able to talk about movies in a way that makes you the film expert with your friends.
