I am a professional educator with13 years of experience in the ESL/EAL field. I have had the opportunity to work with adults from a variety of different countries with differing needs and goals.

My methodology and teaching techniques are influenced by my student's needs. The first and most important thing to establish is what my student's goals are and how I can help them reach them. Once this happens, I can garner my skills and resources.
A typical lesson plan would consist of conversation to get warmed up, followed by a subject-specific lesson with a focus on all 4 skills (reading, listening, speaking and writing). After this, there would be a practice session to gauge what the student understood. The final part would be for questions or more discussion.
I mostly work with adults who are trying to get back into the workforce. I have a lot of experience with students who want to learn how to write an essay or give a presentation. I am also more than qualified to work with individuals who want to improve their resume or interview skills. Over my 13 years of experience I have worked as an ESL instructor at a university as well as an EAL instructor working predominantly with immigrants and refugees.
