About Derrek

In my day job I have the amazing opportunity to design theme parks! My designs can be seen and experienced in some of the most renowned parks around the world. I love being able to design experiences that transport people to amazing places and worlds that previously have only existed in a film or book. Believe it or not all of that starts in Rhino. It is the perfect software that blends creative modeling workflows with technical tools necessary for real-world applications. I enjoy using it and I enjoy teaching it to others so they can learn to see how useful it is and enjoy it too.

About the lesson

I have a strong belief in simplifying the modeling process into bite sized pieces. I help students start with simple forms and use the tools in Rhino to progressively add detail to those models. Lessons with me will not only help you learn the program, but also how to think like a designer and how to visualize in 3D.
