About Radu
I was born in Alexandria, Southern Romania, and began studying the piano at the age of seven. I later attended the Purcell School before Bachelor’s and Master’s in Performance in Piano at the Royal College of Music in London under the tutelage of Ian Jones, Dmitry Alexeev and Dorian Leljak where I was a C. Bechstein Scholar, and a recipient of the LSO Conservatoire Scholarship.
I have won over 30 national and international competitions, including the “Joan Chissell” Schumann Piano Competition, the “Frederic Chopin” International Piano Competition in Bacau, the Norah Sande Award International Piano Competition. I have performed extensively across the UK and Europe, including in Romania, Italy, Germany, France, Spain, Serbia and Moldova. My performances have taken place at venues including Wigmore Hall, Cadogan Hall, the Romanian Athenaeum and Palau de la Música Catalana, with concerto performances including works by Rachmaninoff and Mozart.

My piano lessons are fun, engaging and fully personalised to each student’s age, level and goals. I believe that learning piano should be both rewarding and enjoyable, while developing strong technique and musical understanding. Whether you are a complete beginner, preparing for ABRSM exams, returning to piano, or working towards auditions and competitions, I adapt my teaching to your needs. We can explore classical repertoire, favourite pieces, music theory, sight-reading, technique and performance skills. With over six years of teaching experience and more than 2,000 hours of lessons, I aim to create a supportive environment where every student feels motivated and confident.
