About Jan
I am a professional classical musician. I play both in orchestras and chamber ensembles.
I perform on a couple other bowed string bass instruments as well.
I would like to pass on my love for music, and my experience and insight from 25 years in the pursuit of music.

Italian
When teaching an instrument I like to spend a lot of time focussing on the production of sound. That is the essence of what we do.
Towards that goal I like to help the student become aware of their physical relationship to the instrument, which is a critical element to becoming a good musician.
Beyond that, I like to focus on the understanding, as well, of the concepts involved in music.
