About Shivam
I am a passionate and competitive chess player with a Chess.com rating of around 2024 and 3 years of chess teaching experience. I have competed in several chess tournaments, represented my university in competitions, and achieved gold, silver and bronze medals in competitive events.
I enjoy helping students understand chess in a simple, practical and enjoyable way. I am patient and adapt my teaching style according to each student’s level, strengths and goals.
Whether you are a complete beginner or an intermediate player looking to improve your rating and tournament performance, I can help you develop your tactics, strategy, calculation and confidence. For me, chess is not only about winning—it also develops concentration, patience, decision-making and problem-solving skills.

I make chess lessons practical, engaging and easy to understand, with each lesson adapted to the student’s current level and goals. I focus on opening principles, tactics, calculation, positional understanding, endgames and game analysis.
A typical lesson is around 60 minutes and includes explanation, practical positions, puzzles and playing/analyzing games together. I also review students’ previous games to identify mistakes and help them improve their decision-making.
I am a competitive chess player with a rating of around 2024 on Chess.com and have 3 years of chess teaching experience. My lessons are suitable for beginners, intermediate players and developing competitive players of different ages.
My goal is not just to teach students moves to memorise, but to help them understand why a move works and develop the thinking skills needed to become stronger, more confident chess players.
