About Morgen

I believe in fostering a strong foundation in technique as that is the tool that unlocks the artistry from the musician. I want my students to find the joy in playing cello. Sometimes we listen to recordings, sometimes we talk through issues, sometimes we commiserate over the challenges of playing. I believe the student/teacher relationship is vital for having steady musical growth, where trust can develop and artistry can flourish.

About the lesson

My teaching philosophy is one that is tailored to each student. I believe that one size does not fit all, and will work to find the best method of absorbing information to make sure it works for the individual.
Typical lessons include technique (scales, etudes, exercises), solo repertoire, and sometimes orchestral music/excerpts. I accept all ages and levels. My requirements for my students is to come with an open mind and to try new things!
